Discover!   Explore!   Challenge!

At Woodside Montessori’s summer program, Experience Summer Project, each day’s plan includes a balance of group projects/games and times when children can make their own choice of activity. Each week’s theme includes a component of learning/inquiry — we think and play!

Our program offers a relaxed yet stimulating setting in which children can grow cognitively, emotionally, and socially. Each week’s program is designed to work equally well as a stand-alone experience or as part of a summer-long adventure.

We welcome the addition of children who do not attend Woodside Montessori’s school year program, as this adds to the richness of our community. Join us for summer fun!

Preschool: Ages 2.9 years – 5 years

The preschool summer program – Project Discover!- has a structure similar to our school-year preschool program. It is led by our year-round Montessori teachers. The summer program is more recreationally focused than the school-year program, but still focuses on hands-on learning, social/emotional/language development, and fun!

The children are cooking, reading, singing, running, making friends, and learning something new every day!

Our one & two week sessions include the following selections:

  • 1. Wonders of our Body
  • 2. Fun with Music
  • 3. STEM/LEGO
  • 4. Art in Nature
  • 5. Summer Olympics
  • 6. a. Habitats of the World
  • 6. b. Summer Montessori

Elementary: Ages 6-11 (Grades K-5)    (must have completed kindergarten)

Students in the elementary summer program, Project Explore!, experience an interactive program that encourages curiosity, problem solving skills, and confidence. While forming new friendships, they will have the opportunity to experience and dig deep into STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Math) projects in a fun and relaxed atmosphere. Students have ample time to enjoy the outdoors playing games, gardening, and simply being kids!

Our sessions include the following selections:

  • 1. Maker Mania Part 3
  • 2. Ultimate Sports Adventure
  • 3. Sewing Bees around the World
  • 4. Coding Creations
  • 5. Exploring Modern Music History
  • 6. Crazy Concoctions

Note: Due to the complexity and stimulating nature of our elementary programs - we limit admissions to 12 students!

Limited Enrollment Policy
In order to ensure both effective student/instructor ratio and a quality learning environment, Woodside will continue the policy of limiting the number of students in each program. Registration forms will be accepted until the first day of the session. However, early enrollment is strongly recommended, as registrations are accepted on a space available basis. Woodside Montessori Academy reserves the right to cancel any program, including extended day, due to lack of enrollment.
